The Kaspar Box
Thess Culture & Faltsoi Theatre Ensemble
Inspired by the true story of Kaspar Hauser, “The Kaspar Box” is a physical theater representation of a lockdown carried out behind an invisible prison’s bars, within which safety from the outside world is traded with an alienating inner solitude. The protagonist is alone and restricted in a place where seemingly nothing obstructs her escape and yet she cannot escape. She moves, walks, talks, sings, emotes, listens, sees, feels, touches, discovers, admires and cowers, while trapped in her inability to break free. She does not know what to do and she does not dare to do anything.
