Barbora Čechová

Barbora Čechová is a Czech costume designer and scenographer who has made a strong mark particularly in puppet and alternative theatre. She has collaborated with ensembles such as Buchty a loutky, Loutky bez hranic, the National Theatre Brno, Městská divadla pražská, Divadlo Na zábradlí, Divadlo Spejbla a Hurvínka, Geisslers Hofcomoedianten, the West Bohemian Theatre in Cheb, and Divadlo Polárka. Her visual style is playful, inventive, and meticulously crafted – for her, costume always serves both the story and the character. In addition to theatre, Barbora Čechová works on film and television projects, short author films, and advertising productions. She also creates illustrations and comics, where she applies her distinctive sense of stylization and visual metaphor.
