
Braňo Holiček
Actor, dramaturge, and director Braňo Holiček was born in Košice, Slovakia. Showing both acting and singing talent from an early age, he studied at the Elementary School of Arts with a focus on alternative theatre in Košice, where he also performed in children’s plays and musicals. He took part in various singing competitions before continuing his education at the Prague Conservatory and later at DAMU (the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague), majoring in directing of alternative theatre.
Already during his studies at DAMU, he began working professionally as a theatre director. Today, he is a resident director at Divadlo Ypsilon in Prague and also collaborates with MeetFactory, Divadlo v Dlouhé, and other theatres.
In March 2013, he was awarded the Alfréd Radok Award for Talent of the Year.
