
Eliška Balzerová
Eliška Balzerová is a Czech actress who has become an icon of Czech theatre, film, and television. She studied at the Conservatory and JAMU in Brno and began her career at Divadlo Husa na provázku and the South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice. The major part of her career is linked with the Vinohrady Theatre, where she shone in productions such as Brouk v hlavě and Ubohý vrah. In the 1990s, together with Tomáš Töpfer, she revived Divadlo Na Fidlovačce, starring in Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, or The Matchmaker. She also collaborated with Divadlo Viola and today appears regularly at Studio DVA. She gained popularity through films and TV series such as Hospital at the End of the City, Women in Temptation (Czech Lion for Best Supporting Actress), The Last Aristocrat, Tiger Theory, or the evergreen comedy I Enjoy the World with You. Eliška Balzerová is also highly regarded for her dubbing work and is one of the most prominent Czech actresses of several generations.
