
Jana Kovalčíková
Jana Kovalčíková is a Slovak actress known for her natural performance style, gentle humor, and strong emotional depth. Born in Žilina, she studied drama at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU). During her studies she performed at professional theatres including Divadlo Aréna, Astorka Korzo ’90, and GUnaGU, and shortly after graduating she joined the Slovak National Theatre, making her debut in The Brothers Karamazov.
Her stage work ranges from poetry and classical drama to contemporary plays. Audiences know her from acclaimed productions such as War and Peace, The Imaginary Invalid and Rhinoceros.
She is also popular on screen, appearing in hit series such as Pán profesor, Dunaj, k vašim službám, and the Czech TV series Ulice. Critics praise her as an actress with “a remarkable natural presence that can make you laugh in one moment and cry in the next.”
