    Alena Schäferová

Alena Schäferová is a Czech scenographer and costume designer who is among the most prominent figures on the contemporary theatre scene. She worked at Czech Television Ostrava, and since the 1990s, she has collaborated on film as well as with theatres across the country. She is most closely tied to Divadlo Ungelt, where she designed the set and costumes for productions such as 4000 Days, Mr. Halpern and Mr. Johnson, Violin, and The Hike. Her work stands out for its attention to detail, atmosphere, and sensitive integration with the actors' performances. In addition to her theatre work, she has designed costumes for film and television projects, including Jan Hus, Charles IV, and When the Dragon Has a Headache. Dubbed by the media as "an artist who can tell a story through a costume," Schäferová's work is widely sought after and highly regarded.
