
Marie Nováková
Marie Nováková is a dramaturge and playwright, and a graduate of the Department of Dramatic Theatre at DAMU in Prague. Alongside Ivo Kristián Kubák, she is the founder, dramaturge, and artistic director of the independent theatre company Tygr v tísni and the island-based venue VILA Štvanice.
In her dramaturgical and creative work, she focuses on adapting and staging non-dramatic materials: Zápal (a biography of Egon Schiele and Georg Trakl), Deník 1959 – 1974 (an adaptation of Pavel Juráček's diaries), 1913 (an adaptation of Florian Illies' essayistic novel), and Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Heart (an immersive production at Divadlo Drak). She also collaborates externally with the literary and drama department of Czech Radio Vltava (Oliver Twist, The Portrait of Mr. W. H., the youth play The Splendid Land, etc.). Additionally, she serves as a lecturer for theatre workshops. Until 2016, she was a dramaturge at the Municipal Theatre in Kladno, and since September 2017, she has been a dramaturge at the Klicpera Theatre in Hradec Králové.
