    Ivan Bahrianyi

    Ivan Bahrianyi

Ivan Bahrianyi was a Ukrainian writer, poet, publicist, and political activist. Born in 1906 in Okhtyrka, he died in exile in Germany in 1963. A prominent voice of Ukrainian émigré literature, Bahrianyi condemned totalitarianism and celebrated freedom, dignity, and resilience. His most famous novel, “The Hunters and the Hunted” (Tygrolovy), written during WWII, became a symbol of Ukrainian defiance under Soviet repression.
