Petr B. Novák
Petr B. Novák is a Czech set designer and artist. In his work, he focuses on scenic solutions for dramatic productions and the graphic design of theatrical posters.
After graduating from secondary school, he studied set design at DAMU in Prague under the guidance of professors Dušek and Malina. He linked his early professional period with A-studio Rubín, Divadlo Na zábradlí, and HaDivadlo. A significant stage in his career was his residency at the Činoherní Studio in Ústí nad Labem between 1998 and 2002, for which he also created approximately twenty theatrical posters. Throughout his career, he has realized dozens of productions on stages such as the National Theatre in Prague, Rokoko Theatre, Cheb Municipal Theatre, National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, and HaDivadlo in Brno. He has collaborated with directors Jiří Pokorný, J. A. Pitínský, Vladimír Czesany, Alexander Fedotov, David Tyc, and others. He has presented his work at international scenographic exhibitions, including the Triennale Novi Sad, the Prague Quadrennial (PQ 03), and World Stage Design 2005 in Toronto.
