David Vyhnánek

David Vyhnánek is a Czech theatre director and dramaturge. Since 2023, he has served as the resident dramaturge at Ostrava's Divadlo Mír and is a key figure in the creative team behind the audiovisual platform MírPlay. He graduated in theatre direction and dramaturgy from the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava and in acting from the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava. In his theatrical practice, he focuses on the modern interpretation of comedic genres and the integration of theatrical methods with audiovisual production. As a dramaturge, he has worked on Divadlo Mír productions such as Tik Tik, A Flea in Her Ear, The Dinner Game, and The Czech Curse. A significant portion of his work includes directing sketches and videos for the improv group Tři Tygři (Three Tigers), where he utilizes his sense of brevity and situational humor. He is also a director and author of radio plays. Additionally, he works as a freelance director, collaborating with venues such as Studio G and other theatres across the Czech Republic.
