Kateřina Volánková
Kateřina Volánková (née Letáková) is a Czech director, dramaturge, and playwright. She graduated in Theatre Studies from Masaryk University in Brno and in Theatre Directing from DAMU in Prague.
In her professional practice, she focuses on original devised theatre, modern drama, and the adaptation of non-dramatic texts. She has worked at the Goose on a String Theatre and the West Bohemian Theatre in Cheb, where she directed the production Around the World in Eighty Days (Cesta kolem světa). She currently holds the position of resident dramaturge at the Dejvice Theatre. She has also collaborated with Divadlo Letí and the National Theatre. Her work frequently incorporates elements of satire and grotesque, often in collaboration with other creators such as Lucie Žilák Labajová or Marie Nováková.
