Simona Rybáková

Simona Rybáková is a leading Czech costume designer working across theatre, film, television, and dance. A graduate of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, she has collaborated with directors such as Ladislav Smoček, Jiří Nekvasil, David Drábek, Juraj Herz, and the SKUTR duo. Her costumes have appeared in theatres in Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Plzeň, Hradec Králové, and even Oslo. On screen, she became known for her work on films such as Three Brothers, Milada, …And It Will Be Worse, Fair Play, Krásno, and Havel. For Three Brothers and Milada she won the prestigious Czech Lion Award, and she has been nominated several more times. Critics praise her ability to combine imagination with functionality and turn costumes into an essential part of the story.
