Karel František Tománek
Karel František Tománek is a distinctive Czech dramaturge, playwright and educator from Ústí nad Labem. He studied Czech language and social sciences, followed by dramaturgy at DAMU (1994). During his studies he worked at the Činoherní studio in Ústí nad Labem, where he directed his own plays Everybody Must Scream and On the Table in the Game Room. He has collaborated with many Czech theatres, including the Brno City Theatre (The Picture of Dorian Gray), the Klicpera Theatre in Hradec Králové (Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Three Sisters), the Karlovy Vary City Theatre (The Mousetrap) and the National Theatre. He also worked at Dejvické divadlo, where he dramaturged Hamlet, The Idiot, The Man Without a Past and created his own production Kakadu. Since 2006 he has been teaching at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU.
