Ondřej Cihlář

Ondřej Cihlář is a Czech director, dramaturg, actor, TV/radio host, and educator. In 1997, he co-founded the independent theatre company Divadlo Vosto5, serving as a key co-writer, performer, and director for all of its productions. He graduated in directing and dramaturgy from the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU under the guidance of Miroslav Krobot. Alongside his theatre work, he hosts various discussion programs and talk shows (Kupé v lese, Operitiv, Camping) as well as prestigious public events (Ji.hlava IDFF, OSA Awards, Křišťálová lupa). He is active in radio broadcasting, where his interactive series Return '68 (Návrat ´68) won a Journalism Award. As a professor at HAMU, he focuses on contemporary circus and street theatre, subjects on which he has published the academic books Nový cirkus and Orbis cirkus.
