Denisa Kirschnerová
Denisa Kirschnerová is an accomplished Czech dramaturg, writer, playwright, and, since 2017, the managing director of the legendary Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre. A culturology graduate from the Faculty of Arts at Charles University, she carries on the family tradition of her parents, Miloš Kirschner and Helena Štáchová, developing the legacy of these iconic wooden heroes with elegance and humor.
She has been working at the S+H Theatre since 1996. Although she does not perform on stage herself, her work is familiar to generations of audiences. She is the author of hit puppet plays such as Greedy Hurvínek (Mlsný Hurvínek), Hurvínek Is Naughty Again (Hurvínek už zase zlobí), and Hurvínek's Little Heavens (Hurvínkova Nebesíčka). Her ideas also come to life on audio recordings (Hurvajz, speak up! / Hurvajz, vyžvejkni se!) and on Czech Television, where she contributed to shows like With Hurvínek to the Doctor (S Hurvínkem za lékařem) and English with Hurvínek (Angličtina s Hurvínkem). In addition, she writes successful books and comic strips (Good Grief! / Šmankote!), keeping Spejbl and Hurvínek relevant for modern times.
