Марія Малкова

In 1962, she completed her acting studies at the Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU) under the tutelage of Prof. Miloš Nedbal. Following her graduation, she joined the ensemble of Divadlo Na zábradlí, performing in legendary productions such as King Ubu, The Trial, The Garden Party, The Memorandum, The Increased Difficulty of Concentration, The Bald Soprano, The Lesson, and A Play for Zuzanka. For her unforgettable performances, she won the prestigious Alfréd Radok Award for Best Actress three consecutive times: in 2001 (the production The Terrace, Divadlo Na zábradlí), 2002 (the production The Demons, Divadlo v Dlouhé), and 2003 (the production Heldenplatz, Divadlo Na zábradlí). Since 1996, she has taught at the Higher Professional School of Acting in Prague, and since 2002, she has been a faculty member at DAMU. To this day, she guest stars at Divadlo pod Palmovkou—for instance, in productions directed by Michal Lang such as Madame Bovary, The Žítková Goddesses, and A Year in the Village—as well as at the Prague City Theatres in Martin Františák's production of The Invisible.
