Jiří Škorpík
Jiří Škorpík is an acclaimed Czech composer, arranger, conductor, and singer. He graduated from the Prague State Conservatory, majoring in clarinet and composition. He is widely known to the public as a founding member and arranger of the popular vocal quartet 4TET. As a composer of stage and musical theatre music, he has maintained long-standing collaborations with leading Czech venues, including the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre and the Hybernia Theatre. He was the exclusive arranger for Karel Svoboda and contributed to the musicals Dracula, The Count of Monte Cristo, and Golem.
Although he appears on theater stages rather exceptionally as a musician or conductor, his work forms the backbone of numerous productions. He composed the music for the musical Antoinette – The Queen of France (Antoinetta – královna Francie). For the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre, he provided the music for successful titles such as How All the Devils Meddled with Mánička (Jak s Máničkou šili všichni čerti), Hurvínek Among the Donkeys (Hurvínek mezi osly), and Hurvínek's Heaven (Hurvínkova nebesíčka). In addition to theatre, he composes film scores (Watchman No. 47 / Hlídač č. 47) and arranges projects for prominent Czech performers and symphonic orchestras.
