David Beneš

David Beneš is a Czech stage, television, and film actor originally from Vysočany, Prague. He successfully completed his acting studies at the Higher Vocational School of Acting in Prague-Michle. Almost his entire professional career to date has been firmly tied to the West Bohemian Theatre in Cheb, where he has been a core ensemble member since 2003. On the Cheb stage, he has portrayed dozens of diverse characters and captivated audiences with his demanding original one-man show, Everest. He also appears regularly in front of the camera. He has acted in feature films such as Martin and Venus (Martin a Venuše) or Angels of Everyday Life (Andělé všedního dne). Television viewers may also recognize him from minor roles in the series Modrparta and Modrý kód. He has been a member of the Cheb ensemble since completing his studies, portraying dozens of roles across a wide stylistic range. His prominent roles include Romeo in Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet, the character of Passepartout in the production Around the World in Eighty Days (Cesta kolem světa), and performing in the comedy The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged).
