The Game. Memory of the Future
"The Game. Memory of the Future" is a performance-reflection dedicated to the victims of political repressions in Ukraine. Created by renowned Ukrainian choreographer and director Krystyna Shyshkaryova, the production explores tragic pages of history through contemporary dance and performance art. Its unique scenography features over 100,000 buttons collected by Ukrainians from across the country, from occupied territories, and from abroad. Each button is a symbol of a destroyed life, an unwritten book, an unmade film, an unborn child. Visual effects and music create an atmosphere of a surreal game in which Fate and Death test a human being. This work is not only about the past — it speaks directly to the present. It calls to remember the tragedies of the Executed Renaissance, to prevent history from repeating itself, and to rethink our responsibility for the future. The performance was created with the support of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance.
