
Volodymyr Vynnychenko
Volodymyr Vynnychenko (1880–1951) was a Ukrainian writer, playwright, and political figure, and one of the leaders of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. He authored novels, plays, short stories, and essays exploring social, ethical, and psychological themes in early 20th-century Ukrainian society. His dramatic works focus on internal human conflicts and issues of personal freedom, choice, and responsibility. From 1920 onward, he lived in exile; many of his works were restricted from publication during the Soviet era.
