Jan Matásek

Jan Matásek is a Czech composer, actor, and educator. He graduated in Acting for Alternative and Puppet Theatre from DAMU in Prague. In his professional career, he focuses primarily on creating stage music, having composed over 150 scores for drama and puppet theaters throughout the Czech Republic. Among his most significant collaborating stages are the Minor Theatre, the West Bohemian Theatre in Cheb, the Reduta Theatre in Brno, the Drak Theatre, and the Naive Theatre Liberec. In addition to composing, he works as an actor (e.g., at the Minor Theatre). As a musician, he plays the piano, trombone, and other instruments.
