Ян Янча

Jan Janča is a Czech theatre director and actor of the younger generation who connects theatre, film and international acting experience. He was born in 1993 in Zlín and studied acting at the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava under Emília Vášáryová and Marek Majeský, while also studying theatre directing with Juraj Nvota. He further expanded his training abroad at CNSAD in Paris and at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. In theatre he works both as a director and actor, collaborating with venues such as Městské divadlo Zlín, MeetFactory and Divadlo Scéna. Alongside his stage work he also appears on screen, for example in the series Sex O’Clock, The Mathematics of Crime, Dunaj, k vašim službám and The Nineties. Jan Janča represents a new generation of theatre artists combining a modern directing approach with strong acting energy.
