Zdeněk Dočekal
Zdeněk Dočekal is a Czech pianist, composer, and author of stage music whose work is inherently linked to the modern Prague and regional theater scenes. His signature style is characterized by genre diversity, an ability to build atmosphere, and a sensitive connection to directorial concepts.
As a composer and active musician, he collaborates with numerous prominent ensembles and venues, such as Studio Ypsilon, the Švanda Theatre, Cabaret Calembour, and the Kašpar theater company (Divadlo v Celetné). His name is associated with productions such as Pankrác ’45 and Zpráva o stavu manželství, as well as original projects by Cabaret Calembour, where he contributes to the specific poetics of musical cabaret. He also collaborates with Slovak theaters, having worked on productions for the Karol Spišák Old Theatre in Nitra and the Jozef Gregor Tajovský Theatre in Zvolen.
Beyond the theater stage, he performs as a pianist and composer in the original group Bizarre Band, which blends elements of chanson, jazz, and classical music.
