Pavel Hubička
Pavel Hubička is a Czech stage designer, costume designer, director of visual space, and educator. He graduated in Stage Design and completed his doctoral studies at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU in Prague. He currently serves as the director of the Radost Theatre in Brno and the international Festival of Radost. He began his professional career in the field of animated film in Prague and briefly worked at the Naive Theatre Liberec. As a set designer, he has created over 190 theatrical productions staged in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Estonia, Sweden, and Hungary, with a significant focus on work for children and youth. Beyond the stage, he is the author of the architectural design for the reconstruction and modernization of the Baj Pomorski Theatre in Toruń, Poland (Object of the Year Award by the City of Toruń). His stage designs have received numerous international awards (e.g., at festivals in Toruń, Łódź, and Będzin), and he has been nominated four times for the Polish Golden Mask award. Drama critics consistently highlight the clarity of form in his sets, his material diversity, and the functional integration of stage design with both puppetry and dramatic elements.
