
Павел Хек
Pavel Khek is a Czech theatre director who moved from theory at Palacký University and Charles University to practice at DAMU, where he studied directing. Already during his studies he collaborated with theatres in Zlín, Kladno, Most, and Ostrava. Since 2009 he has been associated with the Municipal Theatre in Mladá Boleslav, where he served as artistic director. Between 2016 and 2019 he was part of the artistic leadership of the Prague City Theatres, and since the 2019/2020 season he has headed the ensemble of the Klicpera Theatre in Hradec Králové. Over his twenty-year career he has created more than 80 productions, including Hamlet, Maryša, and Prašina. Pavel Khek is acclaimed for his work with contemporary texts, original plays, and stage adaptations, and is regarded as one of the prominent figures of Czech theatre. His wife is actress Veronika Khek Kubařová.
