Jiří Zapletal is a Czech actor who has been one of the key pillars of the Klicpera Theatre in Hradec Králové for more than three decades, having joined the ensemble in the 1991/92 season. On stage, he moves effortlessly between comedy, drama, and character roles, always bringing a touch of ease, perspective, and gentle irony. Audiences can see this in performances such as Chocolate Eaters, The Little Mermaid, Broccoli on Mars, Richard III., and The Ball. He says he has “never known fame,” but he certainly knows that the most beautiful thing in the world is love — and that films like Dances with Wolves, Braveheart, or A Beautiful Mind never get old.
