Jozef Hugo Čačko
Jozef Hugo Čačko is a Slovak stage designer, costume designer, and director who ranks among the most distinctive figures of contemporary theatre. He studied stage design at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) and, already during his studies, attracted attention with his original production Blood/Tears and Gold (NoD, 2013) and the set design for Radim Vizváry’s dance solo SÓLO. Čačko is highly valued for his ability to combine bold visual metaphors with precise stage functionality. His work is closely connected with productions directed by Pavel Khek at the Klicpera Theatre A pak usnu a vstanu nebo Hamlet. He also collaborates with many Czech theatres, including the West Bohemian Theatre in Cheb, where he created stage designs for Musíme si pomáhat and Jak je důležité míti Filipa.
