Якуб Кудлач
Jakub Kudláč is a Slovak composer, performer, and sound designer who tells stories through music and sound where words fall short. His work spans drama, opera, puppet theatre, and physical theatre. He has collaborated with leading stages in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, from the Slovak National Theatre and Divadlo Aréna to the Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra, as well as Czech venues such as Theatre Na zábradlí, the Brno City Theatre, and the National Theatre in Prague, where he composed the music for the acclaimed production The Bacchae.
Beyond theatre, he also works in film. For his score to the feature film Arvéd (2022), he received the prestigious Czech Lion Award. Jakub Kudláč ranks among the most distinctive Slovak composers of today—his music blends classical motifs, electronics, and bold experimentation, pushing the boundaries of both theatrical and film music.
