Петр Прокоп

Petr Prokop is a prominent Czech theatre producer, manager, actor, and university educator. In 1996, he co-founded the theatre company Divadlo Vosto5, serving as one of its key performers and main producers. Between 2008 and 2023, he taught courses at DAMU focused on the theatrical network of the Czech Republic and arts project management. He also played a significant role as a co-founder of the Vzlet cultural center in Prague's Vršovice district. On stage, he excels in acclaimed productions such as The Owners (Společenstvo vlastníků), Pérák, Proton, and Dechovka. Alongside Ondřej Cihlář, he regularly hosts the discussion talk show Kupé ve Vzletu (originally Kupé v lese). On screen, he has drawn significant attention through his roles in feature films like The Exceptional Situation (Mimořádná událost), Zátopek, and The Oddsockeaters (Lichožrouti). In the theatre world, he is widely regarded as a driving force of independent culture.
