
Радек Балас
Radek Balaš is a Czech theatre director, choreographer, screenwriter, and teacher, and one of the most prominent figures in Czech musical and dramatic theatre. He graduated in directing from JAMU and throughout his career has worked with many Czech theatres – from the Mladá Boleslav City Theatre, through Hudební divadlo Karlín, Divadlo Broadway, and Divadlo Na Fidlovačce, to the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre.
He is the author and director of acclaimed productions such as Funny Girl, My Fair Lady, The Witches’ Hammer, and Josefína. His work is known for its sense of rhythm, humour, and precise direction. Radek Balaš masterfully combines musical grandeur with authentic acting and emotion, making his productions both entertaining and deeply moving for audiences across the Czech Republic.
