Lesya Ukrainka
Lesya Ukrainka (real name — Larysa Kosach, 1871–1913) was one of the most prominent Ukrainian writers, poets, and playwrights. Her works explore profound philosophical, political, and existential themes, often through historical or mythological narratives. Her most famous plays include "The Forest Song", "Cassandra", "The Possessed", and "The Noblewoman". Lesya Ukrainka’s plays remain among the most popular on Ukrainian stages today. Interpretations of "The Forest Song" can be found in nearly every city — from auteur productions to folk and even puppet theatres.
