Do you hear me?

“Can You Hear Me…?” is a multi-layered production that combines stark military prose with gentle romantic lyricism. The performance sensitively engages with the audience’s emotions, leaving space for personal reflection and for building a bridge between body and soul. The production emerged within the Showcase of Ukrainian Playwriting initiative, which organized a competition for Kyiv-based directors and acting teams to stage readings of plays from the Drama Panorama 2023 collection. Director Alona Al Yusef was selected as one of the winners and, through a random draw, received Anna Halas’s play Chronicles of an Evacuated Body and a Lost Soul. Written after the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, the play was shortlisted for the Reboot Festival of new dramaturgy in London in 2023.
