Tomáš Klus

Tomáš Klus is a Czech singer, songwriter, guitarist, lyricist, composer, and actor. In his youth, he practiced modern pentathlon. In 2007, he won the CzechTalent Zlín competition with his song Dopis. In 2008, he released his debut album Cesta do záhu(d)by. That same year, he composed and recorded the soundtrack for the film English Strawberries and, together with his collaborator Jiří Kučerovský, opened for the band Chinaski. His second album, Hlavní uzávěr splínu, was released along with his first songbook Já, písničkáŘ. This was followed by albums Racek, Proměnamě, and Anat život není. Klus continues the Czech singer-songwriter tradition and often comments on social issues. He performs concerts regularly. He studied acting at DAMU and appeared in the TV series Hop nebo Trop, the film Šejdrem, and the Christmas fairy tales The Secret of the Old Musket and Three Brothers. At the DISK Theatre, he acted in plays such as The Little Mermaid, Kasimir and Karoline, Tartuffe, Markéta Lazarová, and The Seagull. He also performs in the play Deadline at Prague’s Divadlo Ypsilon. In 2010, he won Singer of the Year at the Óčko Music Awards and the Anděl Awards. In 2011 and 2012, he earned the Silver and Gold Czech Nightingale awards. He is also active in charity projects. Tomáš Klus lives with his wife Tamara Klusová, daughters Josefína and Jenovéfa, and son Alfréd.
