Ленка Смрчкова

Lenka Smrčková is a Czech dramaturge and a graduate of the Faculty of Arts at Charles University. She began her career at the Municipal Theatre in Mladá Boleslav, where she prepared more than 30 productions, including Chaplin and Deburau, Zamilovaný Shakespeare, Romeo a Julie nebo Revizor. Since the 2020/21 season, she has been working as a dramaturge at the Klicpera Theatre in Hradec Králové, contributing to productions such as Prašina, Hamlet, Maryša, A pak usnu a vstanu či Její pastorkyňa. Critics and colleagues alike praise her sensitivity to text, her ability to combine the classics with contemporary themes, and her courage to seek out new forms.
