Ян Галлович

Ján Gallovič is a Slovak theatre, film and television actor and one of the prominent figures of the Slovak National Theatre. He was born in Spišská Sobota near Poprad and studied acting at the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava under Professor Karol L. Zachar. After graduating he worked at Nová scéna in Bratislava and at the Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra. Since 1996 he has been a member of the Drama Company of the Slovak National Theatre, where he has created many notable roles in both classical and contemporary productions. On stage, Ján Gallovič is appreciated for his refined acting style, precise work with text and his ability to move effortlessly between comedic and dramatic roles. In addition to acting, he is also active as a teacher – he lectures on artistic recitation at VŠMU – and collaborates with radio and dubbing, where he is regarded as an important interpreter of Slovak dramatic works. He has also appeared in television series such as Dunaj, k vašim službám, Priznanie, and Ordinácia v ružovej záhrade.
