Dragan Stojčevski
Dragan Stojčevski is a Czech scenographer and visual artist originally from Pančevo (former Yugoslavia). He graduated in scenography from DAMU in Prague, where he is currently pursuing doctoral studies, and also completed a residency at the Academy of Fine Arts in the studio of Vladimír Kokolia. His work combines classical theatre scenography with bold experimentation and site-specific projects.
At the National Theatre in Prague, he designed sets for notable productions such as Experiment Myší ráj, Noční sezóna, Faust, and Vassa Železnova. His scenography has also appeared at Divadlo Husa na provázku (Amerika), Jatka78, Janáček Theatre, and on stages in Germany and Serbia.
Other productions include Dobře placená procházka (West Bohemian Theatre in Cheb), Labyrint světa a ráj srdce (Drak Theatre), Kdyby tisíc klarinetů (Cheb), Greek Passion (Essen State Theatre), Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (Cheb), and Hotel Good Luck (Prague City Theatres).
In addition to theatre, he creates public-space installations and site-specific projects – from archaeological sites and abandoned industrial zones to museum spaces. He frequently collaborates with the Mamapapa collective. The media describe him as a visual poet capable of imprinting space with narrative and emotion.
Dragan Stojčevski is among the most distinctive contemporary Czech scenographers, bridging theatre, visual art, and innovative spatial installations.
